Hijacker wants to talk to Prime Minister, says passenger

Law enforcers have cordoned off an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram. The aircraft was on its way to Dubai from Dhaka. An attempt was made to hijack the aircraft. One armed suspect is holding the pilot hostage. There are two crew members. All the passengers were evacuated safely from the aircraft.

JSD leader and lawmaker from Chattogram-9 constituency Moyeen Uddin Khan Badal was on board in the aircraft. After emerging from the aircraft Badal told Somoy TV over phone that , the armed hijacker roughly came to the cabin crew and said, ‘I want to talk to the Prime Minister’.

The aircraft (BG-147) took off from Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at around 5:30 pm on Sunday and made an emergency landing at Shah Amanat Airport in Chattogram which was bound for Dubai.
